Figure 11 shows a cellular base station configuration.

Here the MPC8560 channelizes 8 E1s (up to 256 64-Kbps channels). The local bus can control a bank of
DSPs. Data to and from the DSPs can be transferred through the local bus to the host port of the DSPs
through the integrated DMA controller. The slower communications ports (SCCs, I2C, SPI) can be used for
management and debug functions.
