Corning Cables Systems MT-RJ connector is a small-
form-factor connector with two fibers in one ferrule
for manufacturing environments and building wiring
applications. Compared to single-fiber terminations
such as SC, the MT-RJ connector offers lower termi-
nation cost and greater density for both electronics
and cable management hardware with performance
equal to ceramic connectors. Compliant withTIA/EIA-
604-12 andTIA/EIA-568-B.3, the MT-RJ connector is
significantly lower in cost and smaller in size than the
SC duplex interface.
Utilizing a factory-assembled guide pin assembly with
elliptical tips for improved ferrule durability, the MT-RJ
connectors allow easy installation with precise align-
ment.The unique RJ latch design prevents snagging
and the small MT-RJ interface can be spaced the same
as copper, effectively doubling the number of fiber ports.
The net effect is a drop in the overall price per fiber port
making fiber-to-the-desktop solutions more competitive
with copper.
