Pin # 4 (TRIM): Connecting this pin
through a resistor to -IN will increase V
OUT. Connecting it through a resistor to
VREF will reduce V OUT. Adjusting
range is max. +/- 5% V OUT.
Pin # 5 (EX.B): This pin is a direct path
to the controller IC's Vcc and should not
exceed 20Vdc otherwise the IC will be
damanged. External Bias (Ex.B) will
enable applications where the unit has to
start up under an overload or short-
circuit condition (like capacitor
charging applications). Overload
conditions will prevent internal bias
supply to develop the start-up voltage
due to the hiccup protection mode and
unit will not start. Required voltage for
Ex.B start up: 17 to 20Vdc.
Caution:
when operated with Ex.B, the unit
loses overload and shor circuit
protection. Do not connect if Pin # 5 is
not used.
Pin # 6 (+IN): Positive Input Voltage to
the unit.
Pin # 7 (+OUT): Positive Output
Voltage. A minimum 10% load across
the output is required in order to provide
regulation. Output is clamped with
Zener diodes at a 120% V OUT
(typical) to limit overshoot in case of no
load operation.
Pin # 8 (-OUT): Negative Output
Voltage
