3M? Polyethylene Tape 480 has a transparent polyethylene backing with a long
aging transparent acrylic adhesive. It can be used for splicing and repairing
polyethylene sheeting. It is also recommended for sealing and protecting applications.

Features
Application Ideas
? Polyethylene backing provides good chemical and solvent resistance.
? Extremely conformable for sealing, wrapping, patching and for use on compound
curves.
? Water white color, non-yellowing adhesive make repairs less visible.
? Good abrasion resistance.
? Remains flexible to -20°F (-29°C). Prolonged exposure above 170°F (77°C) and hot
caustics may cause softening of backing and weaken bond of adhesive to backing.
? Best results are attained when applied to a clean, dry surface at temperatures
between 60° to 80°F (16° to 27°C).
? Splicing and patching of polyethylene sheeting.
? Excellent seal on smooth, compound, and irregular surfaces.
? Good candidate for limited outdoor exposure applications (< 3 months) such as
patching, repairing or protecting.
